NCSA Spring Invite Wrap Up

March 16, 2026

TREX had so many great showings at the NCSA Spring Invitational March 14 & 15! There were four new Festival qualifiers and others either adding to their collection of qualifying times or posting new personal best times.

Coaches happily encountered swimmers who were arriving on time for warm up and warming up responsibly.  Even in multi-session meets, warming up before each session is important! TREX swimmers have a set meet warm up that is just under 1000 meters and designed not only to get their bodies moving and ready for racing, but also to help them familiarize themselves with their backstroke turns in sometimes unfamiliar settings, to become familiar with the walls in general, and the starting blocks.

TREX swimmers were accountable for their belongings in very crowded deck space, checked in with coaches before and after their races, and most were behind the blocks with ample time to check in with their timers and take time for themselves to review race plans in their own minds and get themselves ready to do their best.

It was great to see teammates helping one another and showing a lot of Dino pride on deck at the Seton YMCA. Well done TREX, and big thanks to NCSA for a well-run meet, and to all of the officials and parent volunteers who helped support the swimmers in the formal setting of competition.
