Peter Brothers (peter@calgaryswimming.com)

Peter started swimming in Canmore AB at the age of 9.  At 12 years old he moved to Victoria BC where his national and international swimming career began.  Representing Canada internationally since 2012 Peter had many successes:

  • 34-time Canadian national medalist and 18-time Canadian national champion.
  • 2021 two-time Canadian Olympic Trials Champion.
  • 2019 Canadian World University Games Team Member.
  • 2018 Canadian Pan Pacific Championship Team Member.
  • 2016 Canadian World Championship Team Member.
  • 2014 Junior Pan Pacific Championship bronze medalist.
  • 2012 Canadian Youth Swimmer of the Year.

He recently completed his undergraduate degree in zoology this winter at the University of Calgary and retired from the sport of swimming.  Reflecting on his career, Peter feels extremely fortunate to have pursued something that he loves and in turn has given him so many amazing experiences. Getting the opportunity to compete around the world for Canada, taking on leadership roles throughout my National team and Varsity careers, and being introduced to some of the best coaches, athletes, and friends that I know is why he challenged himself every day in the pool. Peter looks forward to taking his expertise in swimming and giving back to the younger generation of UCSC swimmers as Regional Head Coach.
