A Club of Firsts….
In 1979, the UCSC became the first community based swim club in Canada to enter into partnership with a university. This allowed us to maintain a club program with high level coaching and management and also be able to offer sports science and excellent training facilities. In 1994 we partnered with the National Sport Centre to bring their swim program to Calgary. In 2006 the club took another unprecedented move to establish the first ever Academy for Swimming Excellence. This latest move will allow us to continue the strong work we have done in our developmental and age group programs and move forward to provide excellence in international competitive high performance swimming.
