University: 6:00 – 7:15 am   pool

What is TREX 5?

TREX is the first step into the competitive program from the development level. The main focus of the group is to "learn to train" with a heavy emphasis on developing proper technique.

By the end of the season, swimmers should be able to:

  • use proper technique while swimming workout and races
  • use the clock during training
  • understand the structure of a workout
  • understand speed changes in workout
  • take responsibility for their own training and progress
  • communicate with coaches and teammates
  • understand the importance of time standards and qualifying for meets
  • have fun swimming workouts and meets

Expectations of Swimmers

  • Be at practice on time
  • Attend all five practices each week
  • Listen and follow directions
  • Eat nutritionally
  • Put forth required effort when asked
  • Do not be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them
  • Ask questions
  • Communicate to the coach when missing a practice
  • Get to the blocks on their own during meets
  • Be prepared for all workouts and meets
  • Be respectful to coaches and other swimmers
  • Be a "team" member by cheering on and supporting teammates
