Shaul Joins Delmar in Record Setting Performances at Paul Bergen.

Chelsea Shaul jumped on the record setting bandwagon of training partner Lindsay Delmar at the recent Paul Bergen meet in Portland Oregon. Chelsea broke the 13-14 Club record in the 50Fl swimming a 29.71. The previous record of 29.87 was set by Liz Hendrick in 2002.

Training partner Lindsay Delmar continued on her record setting performances last weekend. Lindsay broke her 50 and 100 fly Provincial and club records swimming a 27.21 and 59.45. She went on to break the 15-17 Provincial Record in the 200 fly with a 2:12.06. The previous mark was 2:12.38 set in 1989 by Maria Gaudin. Just to put an exclamation point on her weekend she decided to add a freestyle event to the record streak. Lindsay took off 5 seconds in her 400Fr to swim a 4:14.55 eclipsing the long standing record of 4:14.90 set in 1989 by Erin Holland.

The Paul Bergen meet came to an end with all swimmers achieving personal best times. The swimmers combined to earn 4 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze individual medals at the meet. The largest individual medal tally in recent history for our team. Our younger swimmers attending performed on demand throughout the meet and earned some great experience while our older swimmers struck gold! After the meet, Lindsay Delmar is ranked first in Canada in the 100fly and David Dimitrov is ranked first in the 400IM!
